Good luck in hunting some of these recommended titles. Let us know what you think.

Heroes in the true sense of the word for me ~
Jamie Fraser
John Gault - Rand's Atlas Shrugged

Diana, you can't go wrong with any of Jo's books - all her heroes fit the "steadfast" profile.
My picks for truly bad boys transformed into hero material that I read this year are:
Jacqueline Navin's Raphael FontVilliers in MEET ME AT MIDNIGHT
Patricia Gaffney's TO HAVE & TO HOLD (Sebastian)
Kathryn Shay's COUNT ON ME

Some of my favorite heroes that I've read in 2001
Chalmont Blysdale - Christina Kingston's The Night The
Stars Fell (steadfast; black knight archetype)
Gabrile - Emma Jensen's Fallen (steadfast)
David Delacourte - Liz's A Woman Scorned
Nick - Pam Burford's Fiance for Hire (H-Temptation)
Lucas - Linda Francis Lee's Nightingale Gate
And I agree about LisaK's Jack Devlin of SY

I love sassy, smart a$$ heroes and these would be some of my 2001 favorites:
Ben - Antoinette Stockenberg's Tidewater
(non-comforming detective turned PI)
Ben Lucas - Ryanne Corey (S-Desire)

Some old favorites
Nicole's Desire & Deception (Jason) and The Savage (Lance)
Virginia Kantra's The Passion of Patrick McNeil
Jan Freed's The Fair Gentleman
Rachel Gibson's It Must Be Love (non-comforming detective)

My favorite McNaught hero is Ian Thornton
Strangely enough I prefer Brockmann's Loveswept heroes over her SEAL and single title ones - go figure!

Maggie
