Subject: A small piece of parchiment fluttered like a butterfly through the open window...

It landed on the floor at Lana's feet, unfolding itself as it did so. The slip seemed to grow as it unfolded, revealing lines and words written in silver-blue ink...It was a map! It was titled: The Way to Avalon. It showed Lana an island titled "Glastonbury" and a monestary was shown on it. Next this island was another, though it seemed smaller. On it was written "Avalon", and something called "The Stone Circle" was drawn. All around Avalon were shadowy lines. These wer named "The Mists of Avalon".
Down at the bottom edge of the parchiment was a thin line, called England. At the bottom right corner of this line was a tiny circle. Above this dot was some writing, reading "Portal to Balinor. Opened the New Moon of the Sixth Month, Closing the New Moon of the Seventh Month."

Turning over as if it had a mind of it's own, the map showed some writing:

Dearest Lana,
I hope you shall follow this map, and come to Avalon. I have been longing to see you ever since I read the stars and saw into your future. Though I long to tell you of it, I can not. There is something else I must ask of you, but that shall only be told to you if thou comes here. Using this information I have given you, Lana, I welcome you to Avalon, the Island of the Mists. But you may not pass a test set before you, you shan't be able to see this Sacred Place. If you have no desire to come here, burn this message in a fire, saying, Not for anyone to see, this message was intended only for me.
