Subject: Precession and the Giza pyramids

The theories of both Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval
rest entirely on the assumption that an advanced civil-
ization existed on earth around 10500 B.C.. I say assump-
tion because no archaelogical evidence exists to support
their theory. This assumption rests on yet more assump-
tions, among these being the notion that the heliacal
rising of the constellation of Leo, in 10500 B.C., hap-
pened to coincide with spring equinox, thus giving some-one cause to carve the likeness of a lion into the numi-
lithic limestone that makes up the Giza plateau.
I have written both Hancock and Bauval
and informed them that whateeever program they, or their
astronomer, is using to calculate precession is about
2700 years in error.The constellation of Leo, in fact,
rose, in full body, with tthe sun c. 7300, and not in
10500 B.C. as they allege. Anyone who cares to dispute
my computations can send their arguments here. I'll be
happy to answer them.
