You know, for a fact Dumbledore COULD be VOLDEMORT or an equally dangerous dark force. Why? You see, in all encounters between Voldemort and Harry, Dumbledore has never been present. We all know how wizards can apparate. Plus, it may also explain the strange look in Dumbledore's eyes at the end of the fourth book. That might also add to the rumor that the Dumbledore from one or maybe all the books may not be the real Dumbledore... I mean there could have been many chances to trap him- just like there were with Moody- and you must understand that Moody was an Auror (and a pretty good one through what is mentioned about him in Book 4). Well- can anyone think of a motive for Dumbledore being evil- is there anything in his past that could be leading to his being an enemy.

Before I forget to mention, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets has mentioned that Dumbledore was a Transfiguration teacher before he became Principal at Hogwarts. This can mean that Professor McGonagle may be the new Headmistress of Hogwarts after the much rumored death or disappearance of Dumbledore. That may also mean that there is a chance that Dumbledore can use his extensive knowledge of Transfiguration in good or evil. That means that he either could be transfiguring to help Voldemort or maybe he can be transfiguring during the summers to keep an eye out for Harry. Many more conclusions can be found from this piece of information. And don't forget that there is a mention of human transfigurations being taught to the sixth year students at Hogwarts. That is a reason that Hermione, Ron, and Harry had to use Polyjuice potion to transform themselves into Slytherins in their second year.
