PRAISING GOD

When was the last time you praised God? God longs to hear your praises. He loves you passionately and yearns for you to love Him back.

Sometimes you'll experience blessings that will motivate you to praise God for His work in your life. But even when you're dealing with tough times, God still wants you to praise Him, because He is always with you and He is worthy of praise for His great holiness.

Here are some principles to help you praise God:

* God deserves your praise. He loves you consistently and abundantly.

* God is more concerned about whether you spend time with Him building an intimate relationship with His Word than He is about what activities you're doing to serve Him. He wants you to make praise a priority, because it builds your relationship with Him.

* God derives great pleasure from the praises of people who love Him.

* Praise brings you peace, because it helps you keep your mind on God and off whatever the circumstances of your life are at any given moment. Rather than focusing on the problem, you focus on the Almighty One who has the answer.

* Praise gives you great spiritual strength when fighting
evil. Praise is very powerful against Satan; it makes Him
flee. You're not nearly as vulnerable to evil influences when you're in communion with God as you are when you're not close to God.

* No matter what your current life circumstances are, you have the power to choose to respond positively or negatively. If you respond with praise, you invite God to transform you in the midst of any situation. He will often respond with a creative idea for you to use.

* Praise reveals the depth of God's love for you and makes you humble as you consider all that God has done in your life.

"Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all."
(1 Chronicles 29:11)

Praise is letting God know we recognize Him for who He is,
what He has done, and what He is doing in our lives. But more than informing God of His greatness, praise is rejoicing before Him in His greatness and recognizing that not only is His grace without comparison, His majesty, might, holiness, faithfulness, righteousness, mercy, love, kindness, forgiveness, justice, power and... are without comparison. Praise is thankful celebration that He is God, and even more importantly, that He is our God.

PRAYER:

"Great and Gracious God without comparison, You are truly
worthy of my best words and best thoughts and best imaginings. I worship and submit to You and Your Word, rejoice that You are who You are, celebrate what You have done, and long for what You are yet to do. You are magnificent, my Father and my God. Through Jesus, and because of His matchless love, I praise You today and every day.

Amen."
