I seem to remember back in 1992 (I tHink) the NFL talking about expanding the league into Asia and considering this. They may even have made the uniform, but I really doubt that they ever took the field.
AFAIK the only preseason game ever played in the league was between Barcelona and London in Barcelona in 1997.
