I was raised to believe that it all started with Adam and Eve and that there where no other sentiment beings out there but reading those two verses, seems to tell a different story.

Who where those others on the earth that Cain feared and what where they doing there? This poses a problem for Christianity because Christianity is based on the belief that it all started with Adam and Eve and yet, their own bible says that there where others on the earth at the time.

And with that, is life only limited to earth? I find it a silly thought that with billions of solar systems out there and trillions of planets, only earth would hold life.

This is all a wonderful mystery to me. :- )
