Even the fundies can't claim that it is God's first creation. So if you look to experience the first, you should find your way to the other.

I find the trouble comes from people needing to find something in the Bible so bad they will pervert things.

I personally find the text delightfully open to interpretation, so I don't get too upset when others do the same.
