I have learned that sometimes as you learn, old ideas are replaced. This does not mean that old thoughts were wrong. On the contray, they were right without the new experience, but obsolete with them.

Things becoming obsolete is a good way to think about it. The fact that new things come to light, does not invalidate older things. An F-14 was the best at one point, the Raptor does not take that away.

This is the same with personal growth and is the reason we can never truly judge anyone else's motives or experiences.
