Historically I have issues with the comment that Jews killed Jesus, even if we call them "Jewish leaders."

I would have to debate whether the Temple was run by real authorities or Roman stooges (wealthy Jewish people willing to bow to Rome). These Jews would not necessarily represent all the Jews of the day. The other point would be the reason Jesus was killed. To quelm a possible uprising of the Jewish People over a holiday. One Jew now, or thousands after an uprising?

Even Pilate would consider this if he felt Jesus was innocent.

As to comparing the Holocaust to The Passion, I would not use the parallel, but I would not refuse your doing so. I would not do it from my experiences. You may well see a parallel clearer from yours.

The German government at the time was anti-Jewish. The Roman government of the time was not. The Romans did not care as long as people behaved. That is what made Jesus such a threat to this peace. Jews would not want to upset Rome, Pilate was charged with keeping the peace.
