Have you seen a husky before? Malamutes are basically larger huskys with similar coat patterns and colors. They need A LOT of excersize daily and a LOT of room. They love the snow, are very muscular (more so than the huskies), and they are rather people-oriented. They can also be fairly high-energy unless you excercize them often and I don't suggest taking one if you have an apartment. They bark and howl and chew, but usually don't bite.
They need a high-carb diet and without that and lots of excersize can get health problems like obesity which is VERY dangerous in large breed dogs.
