I happened to e-mail Kevin to ask about some stuff that he's been working on for me and told him about the lack of activity and lack of answers here on this board. He told me that he tried to post here, but the site kept timing out, so I copied and pasted Kevin's post, which provides answers to the questions that some of us have had.

Hi everyone. I've been away from the board awhile because I lost my job -- and with it the computer that had all my favorite sights bookmarked. I couldn't find this board, no matter how much I searched for it.

Anyway, I did go to the Cincinnati show, and I spoke with Wally on the phone for about 30 minutes the Thursday before, so I've got news to share.

First of all, the reason Coz missed the gigs in Spain is because he didn't have his passport in order, and they refused to let him on the plane. Apparently, he and either Clem or Mike were traveling with him, and they had to go on alone. The replacement guy they met there and, as Linda said, they literally sat down with him over lunch and showed him the chords. For about half the time, they played as a TRIO. Wally said that was the first time they had ever done that to his recollection and that it was a helluva lot of fun, because Mike was playing guitar on all the old stuff he and Wally wrote way back when. And he said the crowds loved it.

As for the CD, obviously April is not a go. Wally said the band has chosen the track listing and that the title of the album is now "6149." It will be released in September-ish, according to him. It's mastered, finished and in production as we speak, so unless terrorists take the band hostage, there is no reason this shouldn't finall happen. The somewhat disheartening news is that only 11 songs made the cut -- and one of those will be a hidden "bonus" track, meaning that it will list only 10 songs on the sleeve. (Wally, made it clear he was against this, but was outvoted.) The good news, he said, is that a follow-up is already planned and that the songs that didn't make "6149" will likely be on the next disc -- meaning that it's already more than halfway done, depending on how many songs get written over the next year or two.

Anyway, I went to the show and it was great -- except for all the middle-aged journey fans smoking dope and screaming for Journey. There was at least one person there with a Romantics shirt on, so I'm sure he shared my frustration with that element of the audience. But the band didn't seem to notice, because they put on an enthusiastic show. I got to hear them play "Little White Lies" for the first time since the "In Heat" tour. That was worth the drive in itself!

I didn't stick around to talk with the band afterward, as it was getting late and my fiancee was running out of gas (and patience with the Journey fans). But they're playing in August in Dayton, Ohio, and I have plans already to drive up for that with some friends. Wally said by then he might be able to fix me up with an advance copy of the CD.
