Author: Kronos
Subject: Of Ice, and Virtue

It had been a few days since leaving Vesper behind. The open sea had always appealed to Kronos. Fresh air and the solitude was always welcome. Kronos sat on the boat content with himself and his thoughts. Twas about mid day when the boat hit Ice Isle. Kronos knew to be most cautious on the isle. The likes of Undead and Orc were everywhere. OES and the outskirts of Caina were not far. Kronos was even wary on the seas, passing so closely to Moonglow. Yet, oddly enough, there were no MTC patrols of anykind on the sea, that Kronos noticed that day. Walking along looking at various vendors along the way, Kronos finally came to the pass. "Finally," he thought to himself. The path to the shrine of Honesty.

Kronos used to make this trip all of the time. His brother and he would spend many hours at the shrine talking of Honesty and Truth. Reaching the shrine Kronos found a small apple lying on the ground. Smiling a bit as he reclled the countless times that Lady Anna had brought him apples, he picked it up and placed it on the shrine itself. "Obviously someone left it to pay hommage to Honesty." Kronos touched the ankh and let out a deep sigh. "How I miss you my brother. I wish ye had not left this realm yet. I could use yer counsel now" Kronos turned and could almost see Keale standing there with him. It was neither vision nor memory. It was something different.

Dressed in but a blue robe Keale said aloud. "The most important form of honesty is honesty to oneself."

Kronos nodded, almost believing that his brother was really there. Turning his attention back to the ankh he knelt in prayer. Without turning to acknowledge her, Kronos could sense the elf behind him. "Greetings Princess," Kronos said as he stood to greet her. Princess Isilmea was a young beautiful elven woman. She had spoken to Kronos at length before. He was always amazed at how much she wanted to know of Humans, and their ways.

"Suilad Kronos, What brings ye to the shrine?" she asked with a smile on her face.

"One could ask the same of ye Princess. But I am here to find that which I have lost." Kronos answered. It was obvious that the Princess had come to study the shrine, and possibly learn more of the human race. She was perhaps the most curious person Kronos had ever known.

"what was it that ye lost, Kronos, if I may ask?" She questioned once more with a curious expression.

"I feel that I have lost my virtue. I was not honest with my fellow Loyals. I kept to myself and spoke to very few on my plans to claim the throne of Britannia." Kronos went on to say..."I feel that by not being honest with them I was not honest with myself. I have lost my virtue. I have lost my honesty." Kronos and Isilmea talked for a short time more about what the virtue of Honesty was, and what it meant to be an honest man. While speaking Kronos began hearing voices on the wind.

Within minutes of hearing the voices a man appeared on horseback. It was Pestilence of OES! "Begone from this shrine! Your foul stench has no place here!" Kronos shouted upon recognizing the Horseman.

"Let me ask you Kronos, How does it feel to be the cause of so much pain and suffering in the world?" The Horseman said from atop his steed.

"What?!" Kronos muttered. "Who are you to say such things?!" Kronos grabbed the side of his head, the voices growing louder.

"I have been the cause of much death in my time. But you, you have done far more to hurt the realm. It is broken and fractured. and Its all YOUR fault!" Pestilience could see he was getting to Kronos and began to taunt him even further. "Do you hear the voices? They are from the well of souls. They are voices that YOU sent there. You sent them to their deaths!"

Kronos could hear the horseman no more. With both hand over his ears he called for his etheral mount and fled the shrine yelling. "NO, Its NOT true! This is not my truth, not MY honesty!"

Kronos didnt stop til he reached the boat. He got onto the boat and sat there. Weeping. "What has happened to me? What has happened to my virtue? My Valor?! I ran from a single opponent?! Who have I become? What path is this that I am on?!" With the last question asked Kronos rose to his feet as a force of sudden urgancy swept over him. "I know where to go! Ill need to stop for supplies first." Kronos then pushed out to sea headed for a place he once called his home. The Shrine of Valor
