The lush trail continued through the house and out the back door to the backyard. He sat cross-legged on a blanket on the thick, green grass, waiting quietly for her. Baggy khakis rested low on his hips, the bottoms rolled up to mid-calf, and a white shirt was unbuttoned over his chest, the sleeves rolled to his elbows. Food - every one of her favorite dishes that he knew of - was scattered about and a bottom of expensive wine rested in a bucket of ice. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable and casual - music playing softly as his dark eyes took her in with a small, hesitant smile..

She swallowed heavily, her eyes trailing around the yard before back to him. He was to good to her with everything was going on and this was unexpected to say the least.
