*With that, she found a higher elevation, making sure she was down- wind, and sniffed the air. She knew she didn't need to bring in much, just something that would show her hunting skills, so with this thought in mind, she followed the scent of a mother quail and her four ready-to-leave-the-nest babies. She crouched low as she figured out their location... they sat in a patch of tall grass, mother watching as the baby quail played.. and remained low to the ground as she padded softly towards the birds. She circled the patch quietly, drawing more and more inward each time she went around (hence, a spiral). Her nose quivered, her amber orbs fixed upon the pudgy mother, and she jumped right between the mother and her chicks.
The mother snapped into protection mode, flapping like she was injured, away from her chicks.. but Wikkid is no fool, and she didn't fall for the act, instead she took off after one of the scattered chicks, a good medium-sized quail. She ran past it, snaping it up in her run, and chomped harder on the neck... It ceased it's flapping. She padded slowly over to Serenity, dropping the young quail at her paws..* I could have done btter.. *she muttered*
