"It HURTS," she whimpers, eyes shut tight. They suddenly fly open wide and she twists to stare at Moro. "Scars," she says, her lower lip trembling, her eyes glowing with wisdom and a strange, dark kind of purity. "That's harsh. Poor dear." She pats Moro on the head as though in a dream. "I've never had issues with cars, myself, but maybe that's because I've got nice parents. Poor dear." She shakes her head ruefully, one hand resting lightly on Moro's head, the other still covering her neck.
