Reverberations of past battles...ringing blades, gunshots shattering the night. Echoes of devastating losses, the vague deja vu of triumph...screams of pain, distant, yet so close one could reach out and touch the agonized victim.

The mist spins in and wafts over the lake. A moonbeam manages to pierce the clouds, the water briefly reflecting the silver light. There are desperate cries for help, cries that no one answered, and a somewhat familiar voice wailing "No! Dammit! Holy crud! How'd you do that? You're a liar! That's not true! I won't do it!" A sound of footsteps, a rhythmic thumping, and the screech of, "Lemme go! Lemme go!"

As time and the mysterious remembrances continue on a winding path toward an unknown destination, the mists slowly take further hold, blocking out everything but mere suggestions of shapes and colors...
