I told Pouncer that my only complaint was that they relied to much on an overly frantic visual style, as if they lacked confidence in the ability of the characters and the story to hold an audience's interest. If they'd tone this down just a little - it doesn't have to look like an old episode of "Dragnet," but I'd like to not experience the visual equivalent of someone shouting in my face to hold my attention - I'd be happy to watch the run of 13 episodes.

In a funny way, the fact that I know at the start it was cancelled makes it easier to enjoy - I can just treat it like one of those limited BBC series and not develop an emotional attachment to it that will only lead to disappointment when it gets cancelled.

I'm of two minds as to the visual quirkiness - it can be a bit frantic, but on the other hand the scene of the newsstand takedown done with a football commentator audio was hysterically funny. I agree with Bill about being able to enjoy it more knowing that there are only 13 episodes. I was so bitter over the Firefly cancellation that I wasn't watching anything on FOX when Keen Eddie premiered. I'm happy to have the chance to see it now.
