Subject: Grim's stoopid question of the day.

As many of you already know, Kuzibah and I bought a hearse and use it in conjunction with our Halloween, acting gigs.

What is the most unusual, strangest or most ridiculous thing you've ever bought or done for Halloween?

I decided to dress up as Cinderella. Pretty common, thousands of little girls dress like her every year, right? Well, how many of them dress like Cinderella AFTER she lost her shoe?

I wore a lovely white dress-up dress, one silver sandle-type shoe, and one black boot! My feet were not happy with me that year!

Okay, it's not as cool as a herse, but I think it gives a pretty good picture of the kind of wacky kid I was! And how I became the wacky woman I am today!

[> Our Viking party. -- wwolfe, 16:11:57 10/30/03 Thu (161.149.63.110)

Some have seen pictures of this.

A friend who lived in the country outside of my hometown in Ohio built a huge bonfire out in a clearing in the woods. Everyone dressed up as Vikings and we reveled.

I wore a fur vest and loincloth and knee-high fur boots, plus a necklace of chicken bones my aunt made for me after we had chicken for dinner the night of the party. One friend wore a wizard's cowl complete with stars and planets. The guy who threw the party took about two hundred Campbell soup can lids and pounded them together into a chainmail vest. Another friend actually owned a metal helmet with horns.

Before the party, all of the people described in the above paragraph drove to the supermarket, where we shopped for victuals while wearing our full Viking garb. That was a blast.

At the party, we roasted ears of corn and filet mignon over the bonfire. We also had a barrel which we filled with cheap fruit punch, chopped up fruit, and several fifths of grain alcohol (200 proof - it explodes if you drop the bottle). That was our infamous Hairy Buffalo. I had eight tall glasses of it, then drained the remains of the other 31 people's glasses. Then I jumped in the lake and swam under a canoe, losing my glasses when I surfaced and flipped the hair out of my eyes.

Worth every squinting moment, post-party.

Love the soup can chainmail, in particular.
