As a BtVS fan, what does BtVS mean to you?

Can you relate to any of the charecters or a specific episode?

Is there a metophorical meaning to Buffy that attracts you or is it an entertaining alternative?

If I was to mention the episode 'The Wish' what does this episode in particular mean to you? Is it one of your favs or is it one of your more disliked eps? If so why?

I bagan watching from the first episode after having seen teh movie about a year before that. I thought that the show was well written, entertaining and like nothing else on tv. The show continued to be better than most everything else, despite a couple of weak seasons and some pretty hokey storylines. I didn't begin looking more deeply into the deeper metaphors until at least the second season. I was watching because I liked the characters, the writing and the stories. Buffy has grown into an archetype of her own and I'm glad I was in on it from the beginning.

I love "The Zeppo." I think a lot og guys in the audience ralted well to it because they always rooted for Xander to win out. Xander had always been the Charlie Brown of the show. He never got any real respect and was never able to contribute as much as he wanted to. But he was always a good friend and that turned out to be more than enough.

As I said above, I began without noticing or really looking for anything below the surface. Now that I see the early episodes all the time in re-runs I notice more metaphorical meanings, though the show certainly stands on its own as a simple entertainment.

I like "The Wish" a lot. It reminded me of the Star Trek "Mirror Mirror" universe (probably on purpose). I liked that the characters remained true to themselves despite the horrible situation they were placed in. It was an interesting take on how the characters interacted without their Scooby history in the way.
