Subject: 1989 Toyota Supra Mass air flow Monitor..???

Ive found a 89 Toyota Supra super turbo for only 1800 bucks, but the the guy said that the air flow sensor needs to be replaced first before it can drive well. (there is a new sensor in the trunk that hasnt been installed yet) I was wondering if anyone would know if theres anything else I should know. Would buying this car end in a money pit?
Any replies would be greatly apreciated. Also, the tranny has been replaced and has 80,000 miles on it and the rest of the car has 120,000. Thanks.
