Subject: tranny swap

my truck, a 4wd 78 cheyenne needs a tranny. i bought a used turbo 350, transfer case front drive shaft and crossmember. the truck has a 69 bored and balanced 350 with a big cam. im not sure of the specs on the cam but i know its a big one. so, do i need a stall converter in order to use a stock tranny? what seals etc should i change before i install? how exactly do i do this swap correctly? what type of fluid goes in the transfer case? tranny fluid or gear oil? thank you for any help and tips you can give me. i love this truck and it has been off the road for way too long. thank you.
