Subject: 6 ohm stereo and 8 ohm speakers

I want to hook up my outdor infinity 8 ohm speakers and use my sharp 5 disc compact stereo ( which is 6 ohms) to power the speakers. Sharp says not to use any other speakers than the speakers that came with the compact Stereo.

I always thought that as long as the speakers were rated for higher for ohms than the source, then that was ok.

Anyone know why Sahrp recomends only the speakers that came with the unit.
