Subject: 1992 GMC Jimmy, hesitant start and occasional stall

I am just learning about cars and I have recently put a new engine in my GMC Jimmy. Now it seems that its starts are hesitant and on accasion it will also stall when I try to start it. When initially started the RPM's are somewhat erratic and the oil pressure thus goes up and down. I know it is going to stall when this occurs or when the oil pressre is lower than normal. When the vehicle stalls it only happens right after I turn it on. Does anybody know what the problem may be?
