Subject: Transmission wont go into park

I have a 93 Camaro with the 3.4L V6 engine and automatic transmission. For a about a week I had been having a problem getting the car to go into reverse.. it would be in neutral, now I have no PARKING gear, when the car is in park, it in reverse. The car runs fine, there is no problem with shifting as I am driving. I was told it may be a linkage problem. I took it to one mechanic and he said that there is probably damage inside, said I dont have linkage to adjust. The fluid is fine, not black, no metal flakes or anything... ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS
