Subject: Introducing the Performers

I was thinking that we aren't doing all that much to thank the performers. I mean the sponsors have banners up, brochures in the bag, etc, but not all performers can supply that.

The performers are really the backbone of the event. The entertainment. What people are going to be doing most of the night. I'd love to promote them a little bit more and I'm sure they'd almost expect it.

What does everyone think about having a short description worked into the introduction? Something like

"Our next band is L.A.'s most critically aclaimed gothic ensemble, in their only U.S. performance this year. They embark on a three month tour of Europe in September and we're so grateful to have them tonight. Ladies and gentleman, please welcome Faith and the Muse"

It looks long written but if you say it out loud it's actually really brief. Of course that isn't exactly what we'd say, we might ask the bands (the ones we have closer contact with) what they'd like us to say. I just think it would be great if we could say a few non-commercial, non-annoying words about like, Tiffany and stuff. Because as much as they like that they're helping us, they're also lookign to GEt something out of this night: exposure.

What do you think?

If it sounds cool, I'll ask Chris what SHORT DESCRIPTION we can preface his set with. Val can ask Tiffany, Erin can either write one for Joe or ask them (she'd prolly be more than qualified to just do it herself) I can email MOnica of F&TM and we can prolly do our own for Harry/Judith and Lili.

???
