Hi guys. As per our discussion on the way up to San Jose as well as at yesterday's meeting @quest, I've drafted the index cards that Beth will use. There are two versions of each. One is bulleted and should be expanded upon. The other is verbatim, ONE example of how the bullet points could be expanded. She can use whichever she likes. This is in NO way a final version! Please give your comments and feedback! Also there are a few rough parts of this oen and you'll see where.

Good evening ladies and gentleman! My name is _______ and I’ll be the master of ceremonies for tonight’s celebration. I’ll tell you more about me and what I do later on, but right now I’d just like to welcome you all to the first annual SoCal RAINN Event! We have a wonderful evening planned, full of great music, food and festivities, and so we’re so happy to have you all here. Without further ado, please welcome to the stage Chris Laterzo ________ (descripton).

· Announce that guests are welcome to line up for makeovers going on in the main room, compliments of Skin Market
· Remind guests that their ticket includes a raffle ticket that we’ll be drawing (for great prizes) at 9:45, and we’d love it if they purchased additional tickets in the lobby which can be done until 9:30
· Remind guests that the silent auction is going on in Studio B and includes lots of celebrity-signed items and gift baskets and Tori Amos collectibles, tell them that the last bids must be placed by 10:45 and if present, items can be picked up after the last band leaves the stage at 11:00.

I’d like to take this time to remind you all of a few of the activities you can participate in here tonight. First off, if you’ll look behind you, you can see that we have make up artist giving makeovers compliments of Skin Market so feel free to check them out.
Also, we will be drawing for the raffle at 9:45 and we have some terrific prizes including that great Neutrogena basket you saw on your way in. Your ticket includes one raffle ticket but we’d love it if you bought more for just a dollar a piece. This can be done in the lobby up until 9:30 tonight.
There is also a silent auction in progress in Studio B through those doors and it includes some celebrity-signed memorabilia, lots of gift-baskets and unique items as well as Tori Amos collectibles. You can place bids up until 10:45. We’ll announce the winners after our last band leaves the stage at 11:00. All winners who are present can write their checks and go home with their items tonight. Otherwise, we’ll contact you using the number you provide on the bid sheet.
Please take a moment to sign our birthday card for Tori Amos, set up in the lobby as well. It will be hand-delivered and you can also make a special donation and have a photo of you attached to your signature!
Before I announce the next act I just want to say a quick thank you to the sponsors of this evening’s buffet. We’re grateful for the generous donations from Bristol Farms, Wet Planet Beverages, Real Food Daily, and Claim Jumper. Hello everyone. My name is Dorothy Dotson. I’m part a group of five core organizers (as well as many, many other helpers) who’ve come together to organize tonight’s event. I’d like to just talk for a moment about what brought us to doing this.
Of course most of you know this evening is in celebration of Tori Amos’ 38th birthday. Many of you can relate to having that one author, musician, friend, or mentor, or whoever, whose impact on your life was immeasurable. For each of us, Tori’s music brought something unique into our lives, an impression so diverse and personal that it would be an injustice to try to sum it up onstage here. At any rate, it’s fair to say that Tori’s music has been the soundtrack for the last six years of our lives. She’s taken us through it all, and most importantly, she’s brought us together. We all met about five years ago, through her music, and the experiences we’ve had together since then have been priceless. And all the time, we’ve followed RAINN and how she’s inspired the wonderful people there to start and continue doing the valuable work they do. We’ve all has seen the damage of rape and of abuse, whether it be first hand or in the lives of people close to us. When we combine these facts and how much RAINN needs our help with all the support we’ve received and awareness we’ve provided in the community while planning and now while putting on this event, there’s no question that all the hard work was more than worth it. We’re so honored and touched that you’ve joined us tonight. Please know how much your support means to us personally as well as to RAINN and the tens of thousands whose lives they touch every year.
