I have it from a good source that the number one shcolarship giver in NC is not renewing it's franchise. I was told the the State Committee recieve notification of this yesterday. The reasons i was told they withdrew are
1) State pageant not on TV
2) State committee not increasing Scholarship fund
3) that the Henderson committee doesn't feel they know how to get a contestant ready for State pageant....meaning, if a contestant as smart, talented and well spoken as Stacy Parker can't win anything at Miss NC, then the Henderson committee must not know how to prepare them. I was told that they are going to continue the Miss Henderson program..continue giving college scholarships, just not be a part of the Miss NC program.

Until some of you work to raise the money they did...from one of the most rural parts of the State, I might add... I wouldn't judge them. The Miss Henderson Committee has worked hard for many years and it has shown many committes that they put the girl ahead of personal egos. They are great people to work with However, when you get a girl that was first-runner up, won two prelims, top ten committe service the year before with the mind, body, heart and soul of a true winner that worked hard for their local committe and knew how to prepare herself and she gets NOTHING the next year. Any committe would seee that something goes far deeper than just bad judges. Put two and two together and you come up far short of four.
