Chuck, I have the Eldorado Umax also. It's a very good machine. You should get about ten inches or so on a coin or maybe a miniball. The trick there is to dig the faint signals. I usually take a scoop or two out of the hole, if the signal gets better, it's usually a good target. The Eldorado has the 180 discriminator, which means it will go lower on the metals scale than the Bandido II Umax(120 discriminator) which also means you will have to use more discrimination to cut out small nails and small pieces of iron. The Eldorado loves rusty iron. It will be good for finding old house sites and camp sites that are usually full of iron. The freqency shifter will be good for working around power lines or other detectors too. It is also manual ground balance, a big plus. I like the Eldorado, but for me, the B2Umax works better. I have turned control of the Eldorado over to the wife now and she loves it. She had the Sidewinder before this but it was turn on and go. No ground balance. You won't go wrong with the Eldorado though. Hope this helps..Let me know if you have more questions maybe I can answer them..............Glenn......
