When Antonio walked out on his family, Luis had to get a job and focus primarily on his mother and siblings, so his personal life took a nosedive. He and Beth broke up because of it. If Antonio had never left, Luis wouldn't have had to become the "man of the house," and he would have stayed with Beth.
