Subject: NY Canal Boatmen Info Needed

In the course of my NY Gilman research, who were boatmen, I came in contact with Scott McLaughlin who is doing his dissertation on canal boatmen. The Canal systems of NY employed many who lived in the state. Scott hopes to someday have his research published in a book, which could be very helpful to learning more about our families. Scott is interested in hearing from decendants of boatmen who have more personal backround information on them and is especially interested in any pictures of the boats.

Scott can be contacted by e-mail at bh08607@binghamton.edu
