Subject: THOMAS FOSTER

Searching for the Parents of Thomas Foster Born around 1865 possibly in Wigan, Lancashire.

Marriage Certificate for 1900 in Wigan Methodist Church to Sarah Ann James whose Father was Joseph James a Tailor.

Thomas' Father listed as Thomas Foster, (deceased), Builder/Joiner. No mention of Mother.

Thomas Foster Jnr. died in 1838 in Dicconson Street, Wigan.
Occupation given as Tailor/Draper.

Occupation in 1901 was 'Spt. Liverpool Insurance Company', and known to have lived in Wellingborough, Northampton, prior to his Marriage to Sarah in Gordon Road.

Cannot find any details of Thomas' Siblings.

Some of the James Family, (originally from Cumberland), are known to have emigrated to Australia before 1900.

Thomas had four Children: Esther, Marian, Dorothy, Douglas; the latter a Tailor too.

The Family may have originated in Ireland, but there is no written proof of this.

Am unable to find a Birth Certificate, or a Baptism Certificate.

Any snippet of information would be helpful no matter how small. In the meantime, the mystery continues.

Thanks,
Janet.
