Subject: Thomas Smith, who were his ancestors?

Trying to find the trial of Thomas Smith or his ancestors. He was born c1870 possibly in Warwickshire, England. At the age of 22 he was arrested and tried at Warwickshire Spring Assizes (Warwick GD) 23rd March 1802 for stealing linen out of a bleaching ground. He was found guilty and sentenced to transportation for 14 years.Arrived in Hobart, Tasmania 1804 in HMS Calcutta.He subsequently married Martha Fagan and raised a family in Tasmania.
