The silence before the storm,
quiet and peaceful the norm.
But on the horizon are clouds,
gray and black thick shrouds.
Breezes gave way to strong wind,
silence to thunder once again.
A battle was taking it's place,
peace gave way to war's face.
In the eye of the storm I see,
good boldly fighting evil for me.
Gone is the angel on my shoulder,
as those little devils get bolder.
Every evil weapon they have, they use,
hate, anger, profane verbal abuse.
Little to reason, nor middle is met,
it's all or nothing, hell bent to get.
The noise is defining in confusion's reign,
I am a casualty of heart wrenching pain.
Then when all seems so hopeless again,
and I'm about to give in toward the end.
This little angel begins to appear,
beating that devil, with love so clear.
For no devil or demon can handle that,
It's not conjecture, but a proven fact.
The clouds give way to aqua light blue,
sun now shining, the battle is through.
Winds have given way to soft breeze,
my pain has gone, my soul is at ease.
Silence is golden, after the storm,
quiet and peaceful, back to the norm.
Back is the angel, upon my shoulder,
this time though, I will hold her.
