I'm hard at work, the presses boom,
I won't stay home to nest,
Even though this anthrax means,
I'll soon be laid to rest.

I may be bleeding off and on,
From blackened little sores,
Because somehow they got to me,
With tiny anthrax spores.

But I'll be damned if I will lay,
Like moss around my house,
I have to keep on working for,
My country and my spouse.

With every nut and bolt I turn,
Will help us not to lose,
And when I fall down with my wrench,
Another fills my shoes.

It may well be that just like me,
The next man's stricken too,
But we won't stop until we drop,
There's just too much to do.
