The morning is crisp
though the leaves are yet green
A hint of autumn in the day
Tugging at summers coat string

The grass is still wet
From early morning dew
marking each step
in an outline of my shoe

The leaves are changing
Frocked with autumn hue
One falls on occasion
As leaves are prone to do

And I, a humble witness
To the changing season
Though I have wondered
Some about the reason
