I mull from my chair (to move, I don't dare!), a victim of virus so foreign,
What bug did I catch? (Bio-terror, I 'betch), My body so battered and torn.
Just short days ago (with face all aglow), I breezed through my physical, so routinely,
Now pills unpronounceable (with effects so denounceable) cause rolling eyes gazing so dreamily.
I know, I know! (My wife's quick to show), men are such babies while recovering,
Don't need that gender (with evidence so slender), calling this fact worth discovering!
I write as I hack ('bout threw out my back!), taken down to the bottom of feeling,
Try a few words (with breath like cat-turds), more coughs send my head back to reeling...
Is this the same ME? (or poorly cloned copy), that had nice contributions to make?
That blasted green bug (beneath me pulled rug), prods a "life-reassessment" to take!
The world carries on fine (expect any other line?), as I wrestle with health in my room,
My cog in life's machine (so vital, I've dreamed),has shrunken in size, and QUITE SOON!
So hacking as I fight you (oh, green faceless goo), I throw chemicals and my resolve,
My high thoughts replaced (as we spar face-to-face), by "When will this danged pill dissolve?!"
Goodnight, oh healthy ones (with your freedom and fun), I ask my own night to be passable,
Drugged mind thinks in vain (maybe Saddam Hussein), could make this infidel bug "gassable"!
