Hey, I used to have the same problem. Well, first of all, you don't turn out your feet when you do rocks. And they should always be crossed, and i wouldn't say you have to be high, high on your toes, but you can't be flat-footed on the floor either. First of all, you need to loosen up your ankles, like do ankle twists, you don't want to pull anything. Then take two chairs and place something heavy in each, to make sure they don't tip when you hold onto them. And just go slowly from side to side. You want to keep your ankles locked and your knees locked, you shouldn't see any gaps in your ankles or knees. And just practice them, that's how you get better at things, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, AND MORE PRACTICE! Good luck, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask, I hope my advice works! :)
