Subject: scissor gears

Does anyone know what causes that metallic clicking at 4000-5500 rpm. It drives me crazy!!!!!! I read somewhere something about scissor gears, and that they got them replaced under warranty, but I don't know what they are and my dealer says that my bike sounds fine. Is there a recall or TSB on this at all. Any useful info would be greatly appreciated. ('99 TL1000R w/14,000 miles, new to me)
