My name is Kerry and I am a nursing student at Sacramento State University. I am conducting interviews for my professional nursing course in order to learn about healthcare needs specific to Native Americans. I was wondering if you would be able to complete an online interview for me. I've attached it as a Word document. Any information you could give would be most helpful.

Interview Questions
1. How strongly do you identify with your Native American culture? How much of your life surrounds the customs and self identification as a Native American?
2. What tribe do you associate yourself with? What is your cultural background (i.e. % of heritage)? Do you have additional cultures that you identify with?
3. What values, beliefs, and customs do you have that you feel are derived from your culture as a Native American?
4. What are some of the common folk or traditional remedies that you use that you would attribute specifically to your culture?
5. Do you have access to healthcare? Where do you go to receive healthcare?
6. Do you pay for healthcare or do you have insurance? How much freedom do you feel you have in your choices in the type of healthcare you receive?
7. Does your heritage affect the type of healthcare that you seek or receive? Do you go to a traditional healthcare provider or one specifically for your heritage?
8. Have you found Americanized healthcare to be conflicting with your cultural beliefs?
9. What are your beliefs in regards to birth control?
10. In regards to pain control?
11. In regards to terminal illnesses (i.e. cancer)?
12. In regards to end of life care (i.e. old age)?
13. In regards to those that have passed away?
14. In regards to organ donation?
15. Have you ever been offended by something your healthcare provider has done? If so, what did you find offensive? If not, what would you find offensive?
16. What is your opinion in regards to expectations of a nurse?
17. What advice do you have for healthcare workers that work with Native Americans? What special considerations do you suggest that we should be more considerate of?
18. In the last question, what would you consider to be the single most important consideration that a healthcare provider should be aware of to provide the best possible care?
