Subject: Order of the Arrow

As a teenager and a young man i was a boyscout. As part of being a scout a few boys each year are inducted into what sort of like the boyscout honor society the Order of the Arrow. this is also sometimes referred to as 3ws lodge from the Lenape translation "Wimachtendienk Wingolauchsik Witahemui" they borrowed heavily from indigenous folklore and recite a story of a young native scout named uncas who saves his village from attack and everywhere he went found others who would gladly help. the message was that we as young men should take pride in ourselves and our communities and not feel a sense of obligation but always be "happy to help" as a young man i thought of it as interesting and pretty respectful as there was never any of the "waa waa" stuff but i understand that that interpretation is probably really skewd as i and the lodge i joined as a kid are in philadelphia and most of the lenape people are somewhere in oklahoma. and if this ticked anyone off i wouldnt hear about it. so i write this to ask if there are any of the delware peoples out there what thier perspective is on the order of the arrow?
