Gherkins are there cuz some really stupid people like them. But the other reason they are there is so u can take the Gherkin from yr burger (if u can stomach touching it) and give it to a gherkin loving mate and make yrself look really generous. I used to do it all the time and gathered many friends and attractive ladies using the above method. Actually tho it is pretty fucking stupid esp. considering how tiny and crap gherkins are. Personally I really love a burger w/a load of fresh iceburg lettuce on it and I don't think u should be rude to vegetarians as they make their choice in the same way that you do. You might argue that eating some lentils won't make any difference to the cruelty in which farm animals are killed but if EVERYONE did it then it certainly would.
