Well there is another way to look at all this....YOU know that what they are doing is based on pagan practice and old remedies....so you can have lots of fun with this as you do your own "brand" of protection, etc. The only thing i would worry about is anything that could harm the baby. As she gets a bit more active that scissors under the matress thing is a disaster waiting to happen. Let me tell you kids get active faster than you can ever anticipate! then it isn't a matter of what is in the crib as much as what is in the HOUSE!! train your family now to keep things locked up that could be a hazard. (The best way to childproof a home is to get down and crawl around on your hands and knees and see things from a child's perspective.) meanwhile enjoy her docile baby days!

I think the hardest thing for new moms is that they are insecure about their parenting skills. So read or watch videos or whatever you need to do to get your own opinions and knowledge. then you will feel less threatened by other people throwing in their 2 cents on what to do. you will be able to gently but firmly insist on what you need to and allow and let slide the not-threatening things that are not worth fighting over. In short choose your battles. then when you do have to take a stand you will be calmer since you won't have been stressing about every little issue.

See if you can look at their pagan practices with a sense of humor. You can actually join in and they will never know you are infusing whatever the method with your own spiritual energies and purposes. This could be a hoot! maybe you can keep a secret journal of the various things to share with your daughter when she is older!
" and this is when your grandmother was waving the garlic over you!" great photo opps!!! LOL!

Do you feel better with the medications back? I know you are a great mom!
hugs!!!!
