I was wondering if they have a name for thoes beliefs and little rituals. If so, that would be a starting point to search out more info on it. It could also come from folklore...and or superstition (as in not letting a black cat cross your path, or not walking under a ladder...)

As far as the witchcraft is bad thing....and there are little rituals being done, I've been there a few times with some people as well.

Not trying to be argumentative here, but are ALL rituals witchcraft? (I am divided on that one myself, lol). There are many different pagans out there.

I have heard of the scisors under the bed like you describe before...about oh 10 years ago, and yeh, it was someone from mexico. Just keep in mind the safety stuff, and babies grow really fast.

Sugar has been used in some spellwork to sweeten, while garlic is protection.....so I see where that may come from. Babies can sense things, that some of us don't, and that's why they feel like they do about the crying. However, it could as well be something more mundaine. You could try different types of music and see if that helps. (one of my babies would cry like that til I'd put on a celtic cd.) Oh, and if mama's stressed....you know baby feels it. (not saying you are though).

While frustrating, I'm not sure that debating what the little rituals are called is going to amount to anything but frustration. Setting labels aside for awhile, for peace of mind may be helpful. I recall a ritual that I did once with a Christain Minister...a night of a full moon...The one he did is oh so close to one that some pagans do, but to call what he did that night witchcraft would really send him reeling. ;) So, um yeh, The only reason the "spell" was done once and not again the next month is that someone in the church thought that the Holy Water was ALOT stronger than normal. (more energy in it or something like that). But anyways, That minister and I agreed that he will not say that Pagans do Christain rituals, and that I will not say that Christains do pagan rituals. (even though some ARE the same.)

Do YOU thing there's something bad in the house? A house clensing and blessing may help.
