hallo mr yeo...

the answer u gave us for chapter 27 in the text book right... i dun get the answer in 6c. my answer was something like jupiter had a high temp of 1000deg.c, which allows the gaseous sulphur molecules to be produced from the ordinary sulphur. However the earth does not have a temp of 1000deg.c so molecules of sulphur is not produced. can or cannot?

Hi Tze May!

Cannot! First of all, did the question mentioned that the temperature in Jupiter is 1000 degree celcius or above?? (Unless such data are provided or you know the temperature in Jupiter very well!)

S2 molecules are produced by the impact because it gives off a lot of energy during the explosion. This energy causes the endothermic reaction mentioned in the question to take place.

Hope you understand.
