I think my comp is lagging that's why I didn't see the your reply posted...so sorry.... told u before that there's some problems with my net right? :) haha... and I will help you pass the msg around....

erm... I'm still not very sure about the qns on helium particles in the balloon...

the qns say that which diagram shows the arrangement of particles inside a ballon filled with a mixture of helium and argon... that means that there is no air present right? and if we compare the weight and size of both the particles, helium should be lighter right? I know that particles in gaseous state are moving randomly througout the ballon but since helium is lighter, shouldn't a higher percentage of helium be found nearer the top of the balloon?

Hi Eugenia!

Yes, I know that helium is lighter. But the fact that the gaseous particles are always in random motion will not create such a clear separation as in option A. So option B gives a better representation!
