Hi Buck- It would depend on a lot more than just engine hours. Type of oil used, history of engine use/overheat incidents, age of thermostats and if engine was dry-docked when not in use. My original 6V92 has around 5,500 hours on it and is over 30 years old. Coolant and oil are tested regularly to make sure that pH is within spec and that coolant is not leaking into crankcase via o-rings on cylinder liners. I change the thermostats and flush cooling system every 100K miles.
