'N SYNC SET SECOND HIGHEST SALES MARK

'N SYNC's third album, "Celebrity," sold 1,879,955 copies in its first week of sales, according to SoundScan, giving the group the second highest opening week sales tally, topping EMINEM's "The Marshall Mathers LP," which moved 1.7 million copies in its first week in stores last year. Only 'N Sync's previous album, 2000's "No Strings Attached," has scored a higher tally, with 2.4 million units sold in its debut week. This week's other strong chart debuts were the hip-hop compilation "Violator Volume 2," which moved nearly 80,000 to come in at Number Ten; CAKE's "Comfort Eagle" (Number Thirteen); and NEIL DIAMOND's "Three Chord Opera" (Number Fifteen).
