Marz rides forward toward the party from the direction behind the giants. He is covered in patched snow, head to toe. Lyric's horse appears the same. In his hand is the wand from the drow priestess he took. As he trots forward, he gazes about the battlefield. He also notices the fallen comrade, Bruin. His head low, he dismounts and says, "I am sorry my friend. Had I been a second earlier, perhaps this loss could have been prevented. I am truly sorry for your loss of a friend... and his of an equal." He brushes some of the snow from his robes. "There are no others working with these giants. I found none in the surrounding area. However, there are many thin, frozen ice pockets scattered throughout this field. It is what the horse fell into. 'Twas only my riding training that saved the beast from injury." He brushes snow off the horse. "I have discovered this wand has a magic that is nearly impossible for me to work, and is very uncontrollable in my hands. It was blind luck I was able to set off the Ice Storm power contained within. Perhaps another mage would be willing..." He checks the packs on the horse for secureness and tightens the saddle. He checks himself again... and stares dumbfounded at his belt. "My pouch... My pouch is missing. DAMN!" He remounts the horse and heads in the direction of his tracks. "The damn thing contained the RING!!!" Snow flying from its hooves, the beast and rider sprint off into the distant white...
