Doc is so much nicer than me. So very nicer, oh yes. I do not tolerate people messing with me very well.. call it my New York temper if you wanna. :)
No way would I give up something I was doing just because someone else came along and told me I was unable to do it.. especially when there are tons of those particular baddies around during the swarms. If it were me, I'd keep on hacking at it till the bitter end, even if I wasn't hitting for more than a point or two here and there.
I've had people 'steal' kills from me in the past as every character I have played, and most of the time I just roll my eyes (after all, there are no shortage of other things to kill). Nevertheless, I have never given up attacking something just because some stuck-up moron comes along and decides to take over.
Now that Six is at the point where I can fight and kill most things in AC, I certainly don't abuse that by attacking things other people are already fighting. What I will do, however, is toss heals, armor other, etc at people if I see them struggling with something.
I think there should be a spell set you could cast which would make baddies vulnerable (imperil, bludge vuln, fire vuln, etc) but only to members of your own fellowship. Would make it more fair to compete with people like your little buddy there, Larq.
Just call in the mafia!
If it makes you feel better, the drop from those guys for a Tessara is pretty darn low. I realize the point of your question was more than you wanted to see if you guys could kill it by yourselves, but thought I'd add that. Good luck next time you try killing a Brood Noble.. they are pretty nasty customers. It surprised me that they did bludgeon damage. :)
